Hay ride tractor overturns; 1 injured
At least one person suffered minor injuries Sunday afternoon in an accident during a hayride, Fayetteville police said.
The accident happened about 4 p.m. on Shawcroft Road in the King's Grant subdivision off Ramsey Street.
About 20 people were on the hay-filled trailer when the tractor pulling them slid on an oil slick on the road and overturned, police said. The trailer did not overturn.
Jack Vogtli, who arrived first on the scene, said the tractor was on its side and smoking. Hay was scattered all around it, he said.
Vogtli said there were many children on the trailer, but none of them was hurt. The only person he saw who was injured was a woman whose leg was pinned under the tractor.
Neighbors helped lift the tractor off her, Vogtli said.
